New Ark was established in 1974 and in 2012 we were delighted when Vivacity Peterborough awarded New Ark with a grant to help us preserve our history as an early community-led play centre. We put out a call for volunteers to help sort through our old records, and there is now a New Ark archive in the City Archive at Central Library Peterborough.
The grant also funded a heritage trail, and we are very proud of the resultant history boards created using beautiful illustrations by Laura Barnard, which are displayed on the history boards at our site.
